Eric Clapton spent a decade changing the sound of rock with bands like The Yardbirds, The Blues Breakers and Derek & The Dominoes, but it was his cover of Bob Marley's I Shot The Sheriff that was the first hit on 1974's 471 Ocean Boulevard, his first solo album.
