IT Help Desk for Small Business
A small business help desk does a short list of jobs many times over: get people signed in, add and remove staff, clear a program that has stopped responding, and bring back the file someone deleted. This page describes ours as it works today: what it handles, when it answers, and who can ask it for what.
What the help desk handles
These are the request types listed on our support page, for people working on EEZYCLOUD cloud desktops.
- Password resets and lockouts. For known users these run automatically, at any hour.
- Trouble signing in. Someone who cannot get to their desktop.
- Software stuck. A program frozen in a session, cleared so the person can work again.
- QuickBooks problems. Errors, multi-user mode, a company file left open in another session.
- Staff changes. A new user set up, a departing user locked out and removed, access to company files changed.
- Adding or removing software on your cloud desktops, with your own licenses.
- Restoring a file from the daily backups, which are kept for 30 days.
- Email. Outlook and mailbox problems on your desktop.
How to reach it
Send a request through the ticket form on our support page, or email clientservices@eezycloud.com. Each request is logged as a ticket.
Hours and response times
- Published hours: Monday to Friday 9 AM to 8 PM, Saturday and Sunday 9 AM to 12 PM, US Eastern. Holidays when the desk is closed are listed on the support page.
- Inside those hours: a response within two hours.
- Outside them: sign-in and password help at any hour. Other requests are answered the next business day.
- Maintenance: 10 PM to 7 AM Eastern each night, when access can be interrupted on short notice. Microsoft’s monthly updates go on the servers on the second Tuesday of each month, around 10 PM.
A response is not a fix. Ask any help desk which one its clock measures. Ours measures the response.
Who can ask for what
We act only on requests your business has authorized. Password resets for known users run on their own. Anything that changes access or moves data, such as adding a user, removing one or restoring a file, waits for a person your business has named.
An employee cannot have us pull a file or change access while the owner is away. We never stand in for your approver, at any hour: if the person who approves is out, the request waits for them.
Questions to ask any help desk
- Does it resolve problems, or only take tickets and pass them along?
- Does the response clock measure a reply or a fix?
- What happens to a request sent at 9 PM on a Friday?
- Who at my business can ask for a new user or a password reset, and how does the help desk check?
- Can it restore a deleted file, and from how many days back?
- Where are the hours published, and what happens on holidays?
What it costs
The help desk comes with our cloud desktops: $58.30 per user per month, month-to-month, with no setup fee. Every plan on our pricing page includes email support. To compare that with hiring, see what outsourced IT support costs a small business.
